Formation – Dr Francoise MAUGE is graduated from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon. She obtained a PhD in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Lyon in 1984 for investigations carried out at IRCELYON, and the Research Supervision Qualification (HDR) from University of Caen in 1989. In 1985, she joined the CNRS as research fellow and further senior research fellow. Since October 2024, she is Director of Research Emeritus at CNRS.
Research expertise and production
Her research focuses on the structure-activity relationships of catalytic materials through in situ and operando IR studies for reactions linked to sustainable development and biomass recovery. She is the author of 150 articles, 3 book chapters and 2 patents (WoS, H=42). She has presented 60 plenaries, key notes and invited lectures, and contributed to 250 conference presentations. She has supervised 28 PhD students.
Scientific management and recognition.
She has been involved in over 30 projects with academic and industrial partners, as coordinator or member. She organized 18 national and international conferences as main organizer (Spectrocat 2024, MACS 2019, etc.) or member of the COPIL or COMEX (ICC 2024). She has been member of scientific committees and review panels for various institutions: CNRS, University of Caen, ENSICAEN. From 2011-2014, she was the director of the ENSICAEN research center (650 people). In 2025, she was named Distinguished Fellow of the Société Chimique de France.
